Kurzweil typically graphs this as "bits per second transmitted on the Internet.Suzuki gsx650f gumtree
That's why "Big Data" is such a buzzword these days - there's a growing recognition that we're losing track of all the information we're putting up on the Internet, from Facebook status updates, to YouTube videos, to funny meme posts on Tumblr.
In just a decade, we will have created more content than existed for thousands of years in humanity's prior experience. And it's not just computing power or the growth of the Internet. Chapter ten in Kurzweil's latest book, How to Create a Mind, includes 15 other charts that show these exponential growth curves at work. Once any technology becomes an information technology, it becomes subject to the Law of Accelerating Returns. Consider biomedicine, for example.
Now that the human genome is being translated into a digital life code of 1's and 0's that can be processed by computers, it's also an information technology, and that means it's also subject to the Law of Accelerating Returns.
When you look at the cost of sequencing a human-sized genome, the cost started dropping exponentially around 2001 and fell off the genomic cliff in about 2007 -- about the same time that Craig Venter's genome project took off. As Ray points out in How to Create a Mind, the reason why typical pundits and prognosticators typically get it wrong year after year is that the human mind has evolved to think linearly, not exponentially.
We conceive of 40 steps as a linear progression: one step after another, from 1 to 40. Ray thinks exponentially, though. That's why Ray's latest project - reverse-engineering the human brain - is so exciting.
So what can we count on for 2013. Think like Ray, and use the Law of Accelerating Returns to your advantage. Figure out the scale of the problem that you're facing, figure out the computing power needed to achieve it, and then work backwards to arrive at an approximate timeline. Using this simple approach, Ray was able to predict that an artificial intelligence technology like Deep Blue would be capable of beating a chess grandmaster by 1998.
He talked to a grandmaster, figured out that an AI machine would have to recognize 100,000 possible board positions at any time, and that it would have to have the raw computing chops to crunch all possible combinations of these 100,000 board positions over and over again. Once that required computing power was possible (thanks to Moore's Law), it was time to move on to the next challenge -- becoming a Jeopardy.
Now, with the victory of Watson, it's time to move on to the next challenge - becoming the world's best doctor. The really exciting feature of the Law of Accelerating Returns is that it implicity assumes that one exponential technology builds on top of the next exponential technology.Thank you VERY MUCH.
Guides on our tours were informative, interesting, and very easy to talk to with good senses of humor. Pick up times were prompt.
The hotel was great and accomidating. The trip and services were outstanding. We loved Iceland and found the Icelanders to be extremely friendly people. I want to thank Cecilia, she was wonderful. The trip was amazing, we had no problems while travelling and the hotel selection was good. She did a great job. The staff at the Oslo Clarion Royal Christiana were amazing. My husband got sick during the trip and they went out of the way to make sure he felt better.

Great choice of hotel. I wanted to go to Iceland and was going by myself. Figured I'd book a tour, seemed easiest. Found Nordic Visitor and thought, "looks good. Nordic Visitor did everything. Booked my airport transfers, booked my hotels, provided tour guide, everything. I literally just had to show up. The tour group was nice and small, perfect. The tour guide was super knowledgeable and would provide lots of little tidbits of info. Part of the tour was to try and see the Northern Lights.
Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating the days we were on the tour. Well, on the last day, it was finally clear, so the tour guide called the office and got us all booked on a Northern Lights tour for that night.
We saw the most amazing Northern Lights. And it was all because the tour guide went the extra mile and got us on the tour. Thank you so much for being there and helping people to discover those incredible places around the Scandinavia.

I've met so many great people and had such a splendid time, that I will never forget. My main purpose was to see the Northen Lights, but I've got so much more and everything was just beyond my expectations. I would like to thank our Nordic Visitor agent Jennie Elofsson for a great assistance, she's been very helpful and super quick giving us all the answers we need.
Also I would like to thank our amazing guides, who made our tour so very special and intimate: Emil and Jenny. All guesthouses were very nice and friendly. They give us the possibillity to get in contact with islandic people which were very friendly and all spoke very good english. Perfectly prepared tour with individual extension. The tour and preperation exceeds our expectation. For example the tour package included sun glasses for the solar eclipse which happened during our tour.
Thanks for the wonderful experience Iceland. We will come back for sure.
Our trip gave us plenty to do while still leaving us time to relax and explore the city at our own pace. It was so nice to not have to worry about planning every day-- we just showed up where we were supposed to be at the time we were given and everything else was taken care of.How much capex would it take reactivate over 1000 rigs. Can the shale producers really increase production to an extent to obviate the OPEC cut when LESS capex is being spent.
How long will it take to gets those new rigs up and running and producing. Phil Currie on December 23 2016 said: Craig Ferrell is correct.Colverde via salvadonica
One more thing to add to his comments. Where will all the people come from to run these rigs to bring back this oil production. Many have left the industry, some will flock back, but not all. I do not see the rig count in the US going over 1000 for a very long time, if ever again. The pundit class never seems to be interested in talking about how accurate they have been, and that's not aimed at you personally Ms. Craig Ferrell on December 23 2016 said: Thanks Phil.
Couldn't fit in previous comment field the aspect of financing. Banks review borrowing base twice a year, and cut back last fall based on lower prices. By the time they re-evaluate in spring with higher bases and presumably more ability to spend on capex, the 1st round of OPEC cuts will already be in the books. It will take a bit longer than assumed, and thus higher oil prices.

You have to spend big money to make big money. They either have to make the money or borrow it. They can't produce enough to drill, and banks aren't going to lend them money OR they're already extended their credit to the limit. Also, companies are inherently conservative. The industry might be short sited at times, but it's still runs to make a profit, and until there's enough revenue and cash flow coming back OUT of oil shales, banks and company executives will hesitate to or won't be able to spend like it's 2014.
As in the past the abusers will go all the way.

Wish them all the best. I was very pleased with the whole experience. My thanks to Kolbrun who was always quick to reply to my emails and questions. She was very helpful throughout. I liked the hotels selected and the locations they were in.
Overall the holiday was a great success and I am sure at some stage we will book another holiday through yourselves. The map provided to us highlighting the route and where the hotels were located, as well as attractions, was extremely helpful. The itinerary was well planned and we never felt rushed. We really enjoyed your wonderful country. We asked Alexandra to try to get us the best rooms possible that were also quiet, if possible. It was obvious that she had done so at every destination.Taze definition webster
She asked us what we wanted, listened, asked a few good questions and then did her best to find us what we asked for and we were very pleased with the results. The materials provided by Nordic Visitor were fantastic. We used the maps and the brochures and the itinerary and read every suggestion. The map with a suggested driving route to each of our marked hotels was very helpful.
We were very, very well prepared for this trip because of the outstanding work done and materials provided by Nordic Visitor. The trip was planned for us (based on what we wanted to do) and all of the details had been taken care of for us. The route was planned, the hotel reservations were made, we had books and maps sent to us and we were provided with a phone and GPS.
Working with Alexandra was just a pleasure. From the very first email I sent of inquiry about the possibility of booking a trip with Nordic Visitor until the email I sent at the end of our trip asking if we could change our shuttle pickup time at the hotel, she was helpful, knowledgeable, responsive and always cheerful.
Thanks to Alexandra and Nordic Visitor, this was one of the best planned and organized trips we have ever taken. Nothing went wrong, but I have every confidence that Nordic Visitor would have helped us had there been any problems.
I have no recommendations for how Nordic Visitor could improve what it does and that is unusual for me. My expectations are high, and they were surpassed. Our trip to Iceland was unforgettable. Everything from the accommodations, to the rental car, to the travel documents exceeded our expectations.
Jelena was fabulous and truly put our minds at ease answering any and all questions. We were blown away by the beauty of Iceland and the incredibly warm people.Kularb Rai Narm
Everything was incredible, and we can't wait to return. It was a thoroughly-planned trip from A to Z with many options to select from and add to the trip depending on the location.Adey magnacleanse spares
The booklets given were most helpful and actually more efficient than Google, or just easier to navigate. Our hotels were perfect. We enjoyed wonderful dinners, some in the hotels, and others along the way. We were pleasantly surprised that even the smallest hotels served gourmet meals, great food and beautiful presentation. In my case, that would make a huge difference, given I usually base my analysis on betting odds graphs. Will definitely consider it.

Warning, probably my worst work but got it done in 24 hours. My everyday routine includes driving my daughter to school, working out (basketball specifically), taking care of my web business, picking up the kid from school and spending time with the family in the evening.
Daily vlogging requires about 3 to 6 more hours on a daily basis for editing, not to mention the added pressure it brings to the daily hustle. Documenting life may seem exciting but it eats up a lot of resources, most importantly, time.

That was really good for MMA and the UFC, obviously. Commercial reproduction, distribution or transmission of any part or parts of this website or any information contained therein by any means whatsoever without the prior written permission is not permitted.

We ended the month with a total profit of 126 points which means we are now back in the game with an overall profit of 28.
We're back with another update to our Golf Betting Expert review and we've seen a slight increase in the strike rate this month, however it still ended with a loss in the end. We lost 19 points in total which gives us an overall loss of 97. Since last month we noticed that the advised starting bank on the sales page has now been upped from 200 to 500 points, which seems a much more sensible size after witnessing the massive swing in variance the service has experienced over the last couple of months.
We are going to continue following the service for another three months and will report back soon with our next update. It's been a turbulent time in our Golf Betting Expert review with a terrible losing run where just 2 out of 42 bets returned a profit. After the bets from the Tour Championship and Portugal Masters had been settled, our 200 point bank had dwindled all the way down to 19. The next set of tips were received on the following Thursday ahead of the British Masters, but at this stage our bank was 0.
Technically this is a bust bank, but we went on to record the available odds and waited to see what happened next anyway. Since starting the review we are still down by 78.
Clearly the advised starting bank of 200 points is not sufficient and we can't deny that we have lost confidence in the service. Despite this, we have decided to continue following the tips for a little while longer to see whether a recovery can be made and whether the recommended bank will be adjusted.Overall it was a wonderful family trip that we'll remember forever. Aharon, Israel The Classic Fjords Route, June 2016 My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 11 day self-drive trip to Norway.
We were very satisfied with the arrangements made by Nordic Visitor and we were happy that an experienced tour company planned our trip instead of us trying to plan it by ourselves. We really enjoyed Trondheim and we are happy that we decided to pick the self-drive tour that finished in Trondheim.
All the travel accommodations went like clockwork. Hotels were mostly quite easy to find and were comfortable, albeit somewhat marginally comfortable in a couple of cases. Again, I would like to compliment Sindre Matthiason. Kudos out to him. He was so very helpful and had everything well organized for us, which really helped to alleviate any anxiety we might have had initially. We really loved Norway - Oslo, Bergen and all other stops.
We also enjoyed Stockholm but found it to be just another big city - kind of like going to San Francisco, London or Berlin. They all have much in common. Gary and Sandy, United States Iceland Full Circle, June 2016 I have put comments in TripAdvisor but again, Helga was terrific. Deirdre and Charlene, United States Express Iceland, June 2016 Had a great time at all hotels.
Gerald and Carol, United States Express Iceland, May 2016 We loved your beautiful country and the wonderful scenery in every part. John and Linda, United States Iceland Full Circle - Winter, May 2016 We have traveled together for 42 years.
Our Icelandic experience will be fondly remembered, it was very special. We always felt welcome. We never had a bad meal.
The scenery was no less than spectacular. Our thanks to everyone at Nordic Visitor. Michael, Canada Iceland Complete, May 2016 We were thrilled with the accommodations and really everything about the tour.
Janet, United States Highlights of Scandinavia by car, May 2016 We had a great time on our trip. Jim and Dale, Canada The Natural Wonders of Iceland, May 2016 The tour exceeded our expectations and without a doubt it was one of the greatest vacations we have ever taken. Julee and Matthew, United Kingdom Iceland Grand Tour, May 2016 Booking with Nordic Visitor was a wonderful experience. We absolutely love Iceland. The Iceland Grand Tour was well planned by Helga.
